Thank you for your interest in my online gallery.

I am Michael Wesley Cason a second generation photographer/artist.  My father is a portrait artist of over 40 years. My parents started a portrait studio over 30 years ago. As a child I played video games under the work tables of the studio watching my father and his staff create beautiful studio portraits, and later, environmental portraits of children and families.  I worked as a teenager in the studio putting together stretcher bars and stretched canvas portraits preparing them for framing.   My father then trained me to do digital artwork and retouching on the portraits and eventually to make portraits.

My true love however is nature.  There is a peacefulness walking beside a slow moving river, or hearing the gulls cry out as the sun goes down painting brilliant colors in the sky.  I like the hollow sound of a paddle occasionally bumping the side of a canoe as I look for compositions.  My path is making art from nature.  When a client purchases one of my pieces and hangs it on their wall I want them to feel what I felt when I was there smelling the sea, hearing the shells crunch under my feet or paddling a canoe down the river.

I use multiple disciplines to create the final images.  No, these images are by no means a strict reproduction of scenes I see but a blending of the technical, emotional and what the eye see’s.  Much thought and many hours have gone into the making of each image. I hope my work evokes the same feelings in you that nature brings to me.

Not all of us have the pleasure of working along side our parents shoulder to shoulder.  This is kind of a family affair.  Yes, we have our own separate businesses but it’s hard to make a distinction at times.  My mother, Amy Cason, is a great marketer with years of experience and my father has been at my side on many of my adventures creating images with me.  Some of his work is represented here also.  My father, Donald Cason, feels that same connection, respect and love of nature that equals mine and is responsible for some of the directions of my art.  It’s truly in the blood.

Hoping you will have some of my pieces gracing the walls of your home and office evoking tranquility in a busy day.

Making the world a better place through art.
